Boxes are rounded up — you can't buy a part box, and one spare after the job is cheaper than a second trip.
Why wastage matters more than people think
Every cut tile produces an offcut you usually can't use. Large format wastes far more than small format, because one bad cut writes off a whole metre-square panel. If you're laying 1200 × 1200 or herringbone, take the 20% option — and buy the whole job in one batch, because shade varies between production runs.
