Frequently asked questions
The things people actually ask at the counter. If yours isn't here, ring and ask — we'd rather answer it before you buy.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any day we're open. If you want a long session planning a whole bathroom it's worth ringing first so we can make sure someone's free to sit with you.
How big are your tiles?
Up to 1200 × 1200mm. We also hold 1200 × 600, 900 × 900, 800 × 800, 600 × 600 and 1200 × 300 plank formats, plus smaller wall formats and mosaics.
What's the difference between matt, gloss, polished and semi-polished?
Matt has no sheen and hides marks best, which makes it the safe choice for floors. Gloss reflects light and suits walls. Polished is a mirror finish — high-end, but it shows every smear and can be slippery underfoot. Semi-polished sits between the two: you get the depth without the glare or the slip risk.
Are your tiles suitable for a wet room?
Many are. Look for an R10 or R11 slip rating, which we mark on the display. You'll also need tanking, the right tray former and an appropriate adhesive — we stock all of it and we'll walk you through the build-up.
Can I take samples home?
Yes. Colour looks completely different under your own lighting, so we'd rather you took a sample and came back than guessed in the showroom.
Do you do trade prices?
Yes. The trade card is free, takes a minute at the counter, and gets you ex-VAT pricing across the whole building. Bring anything showing you're in the trade.
Do you offer credit accounts?
No, and deliberately. Paying on collection keeps our prices where they are and means we're never chasing anyone. We'll raise an invoice on the spot for your books.
How much wastage should I allow?
10% for a simple straight lay, 15% as standard, and 20 to 25% for herringbone, diagonal or large format. Our calculator handles it, or bring your measurements in.
Do you deliver?
Yes — locally around Calderdale and Kirklees, and nationwide on tiles and bathroom products. Priced on weight and distance, so ask at the counter or ring for a quote.
Can I return tiles I don't use?
Full, unopened, undamaged boxes with a receipt, yes. Part boxes, cut tiles, special orders and clearance stock can't come back.
Do you supply fitters?
We keep a board of local fitters who buy from us. No commission and no ranking — take a few numbers and get your own quotes.
Where exactly are you?
Unit 3, Brooksmouth Mills, Clifton Road, Brighouse, HD6 1SL. Free parking directly outside, a few minutes from Brighouse town centre and close to junction 25 of the M62.
Still not sure?
Ring the showroom. We'll go and physically look at the rack rather than guessing from a screen, and we'll tell you honestly if we haven't got what you need.
